In the stillness

In the stillness of night, the Goddess whispers. In the brightness of the day, dear God roars. Life pulses, mind imagines, emotions wave, thoughts wander. What are all these but the endless movements of One Taste, forever at play with its own gestures, whispering quietly to all who would listen: is this not you yourself? When the thunder roars, do you not hear your Self? When the lightning cracks, do you not see your Self? When clouds float quietly across the sky, is this not your very own limitless Being, waving back at you?

In a handful of ocean water

In a handful of ocean water
You could not count all the finely tuned
Musicians

Who are acting stoned
For very intelligent and sane reasons

And of course are becoming extremely sweet
And wild.

~Hafiz

There came a time

There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud
was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.

Tent tethered

Tent tethered among jack pine and blue-bells. Lacewings rise from rock incubators. Wild geese flying north. And I can’t remember who I’m supposed to be.

I love

“I love to study the many things that grow below the corn stalks and bring them back to the studio to study the color. If one could only catch that true color of nature – the very thought of it drives me mad.”

You paint it jet black.”

We can see

We can see that these plants do more than simply maintain our body. They also promote and nourish our souls and make possible the enlightenment of our mind. Their existence is offering, sacrifice and selfless love. The earth on which they grow itself a sacraficial altar and we who receive their blessings are the sacrificial priests. Through plants, the outer light of the sun and the stars becomes the inner light which reflects back from the foundations of our soul. This is the reason why plants have always and everywhere been considered sacred, divine.

Miracles

Blue

Moncy Barbour

I'm intrigued

“I'm intrigued that one can recognize different parts of the world solely by the particular color of the water.”

Leonard Mizerek

Whether the flower

“Whether the flower or the color is the focus I do not know. I do know the flower is painted large to convey my experience with the flower – and what is my experience if it is not the color?"

Georgia O'Keeffe

Nowhere

“Nowhere in nature can you find purer color than sunlight passing through the petal of a flower.”

Larry K. Stephenson

We listened

We listened for a voice crying in the wilderness.

A tree

"A tree is like a pipeline from the sky to the earth. It is a living pipeline that carries energy. The same life force energy surges through all living things. when you embrace someone you feel good energy surging between the two of you. This is the same life force that is in trees."

- Eleanor and Phillip Harris

Now o friends

"Now o friends
Listen to the words of a dream
Each spring brings us new life
The golden corn refreshes us
And the pink corn makes us a necklace
...At least this we know:
The hearts of our friends are true."

- Aztec
