From what I can tell, God is particularly averse to the concept of the free ride, and he goes to great lengths to make sure that people who have settled comfortably into their wonderfully-fulfilling-lives-which-are-ultimately-to-be-rewarded-with-a-trip-to-heaven get their reality check.
